A dynamic matrix control (DMC) based model predictive control (MPC) algorithm has been developed to control temperature distribution of a highly coupled multivariable soil heating system. The soil heating system constitutes three heaters as inputs and three thermocouples, which measure temperature responses at three different locations, as outputs.
