About Me:
I have been widowed since 1994 after 25 years of marriage to a wonderful man who lost his battle with cancer. I am slowly rebuilding my life and have found that while I am basically content and happy with my life as it is today, I miss the love and companionship that sharing one's life with another can bring.
I view life as a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow. And learning can take place through reading, traveling, music, drama, art, gardening, cooking, people, etc., etc., etc., or just "being".
I have tried to analyze the complexities of what made my first relationship successful. Two of the key words seem to be RESPECT of self and others, and ACCEPTANCE of self and others. Of course, a more indepth explanation might be needed to clarify those two words and why I chose them. But I do believe RESPECT and ACCEPTANCE are very important words in any relationship.
I have a Master's degree in my field of study, with enough additional credits for a doctorate, but that is not of interest to me. I value learning in and of it's self, not for the title.
I want to continue meeting new and interesting people, perhaps you have tried tackling some of James Joyce's books recently or have thought about traveling to Easter Island. We could have an interesting conversation over the internet or over a cup of tea or coffee, in a smoke free environment.
