About Me:
At 50, my life is not what I expected it to be when I got married 26 years ago. I thought that I would be happily married and looking forward to retirement and grandchildren. My ex-wife was the one who went through the late-40s midlife crisis. She ran off with some guy that she met on the Internet (I guess that I should feel insulted because he looks like a younger version of Alfred Hitchcock, i.e., overweight and balding), leaving me with custody of our teenaged daughter.
About myself: I am about 6 feet tall, 195 lbs, with brown hair and blue/gray eyes. I enjoy outdoor activities and try to keep in shape by going to the gym, playing basketball, and riding my bicycle. I have a college degree and a well-paying professional job. Basically, I am a homebody. I enjoy reading and writing (several of my short stories have been published), listening to music, taking long walks, and having good conversation with intimate friends. I don't smoke or drink.
I am not, by inclination, a very social person, so this seems to be a good way to meet someone special--especially since I am a writer. [It worked for my ex, so what the heck!]
I am looking for someone to share joy, laughter and romance with for the rest of our lives, someone who can appreciate a quiet, simple guy with a great sense of humor. (I am NOT looking for someone half my age to ride around in a flashy red convertible so that I can pretend that I am not really 50.)
Even if there are no romantic sparks, I would enjoy corresponding with anyone who is intelligent and writes in complete sentences, rather than cryptic cyberspeak, and who might be able to offer some needed insights on parenting my teenaged daughter. (If not insights, at least a little sympathy.)
