About Me:
The stats: 44, 5'6", 140 lbs, short (& thinning) brown hair, blue eyes, mustache (and sometimes a beard). MFA in printmaking, 1985, but I'm not doing my own art anymore -- at least, not right now. I live in Brooklyn and work in Soho at a studio where we make paper by hand for (mostly) artists and bookmakers. Just about finished with the process of divorce, and I have an 12 yr. old daughter (a VERY cool kid) who's with me every other weekend and usually at least one night during the week.
I think of myself as an intellectual but I'm pretty down-to-earth, with fairly simple tastes: movies, off-Broadway, the enchiladas suizas at Lupe's, Gus the polar bear, good conversation, a nice cuppa coffee (the elixir of life, if you ask me), camping out at Barnes & Noble Union Square, cheesecake at Junior's, L'il Mo and the Monicats at the Rodeo Bar, the Circle Line cruise at twilight, the top of the Empire State Building at night, the wolf display at the Museum of Natural History, the Temple of Dendur at the Met, just walking around exploring the city, a good game of Scrabble -- you know, all the usual stuff . . . .
I'm outgoing, witty, kind, generous, sentimental/romantic, and serious -- with a mile-wide goofy streak. The visual arts and music are very important parts of my life. I'm a "serious amateur" musician (I play guitar and sing) with wide-ranging musical tastes. I'm a good talker AND a good listener. I don't smoke and I drink only occasionally (and lightly).
I'm looking for someone who shares at least a few of these qualities and interests. Intelligence, nice eyes and a ready smile go a long way with me. My only "non-negotiable" requirements: you must be a non-smoker and you must be 5'6" or under (shorter is better, as far as I'm concerned!).
