About Me:
Here’s some material about myself and a prospective
friend that I wrote a while back:
My interests – partial list
I like travelling, having been to five continents,
Israel twice (where my cousin lives), and many
countries in Europe. However, I am a bit different
from some tourists in that I spend a lot of time in
museums, art galleries and historical sites. Sitting
by the pool with a drink in my hand is for my old age!
I also like art. Years ago, I decided to collect masks
from different cultures, and now my collection fills
my house. I even wrote a book on the subject. Speaking
of writing, this is what I have done for years, having
published eight books and over a hundred scientific
articles. So you can see that I am a bit intellectual,
which may not appeal to some people. But that is who I
am.
A prospective friend or mate
I would like a woman who is thoughtful and considerate
of others. Manners are much more than which fork to
pick up first at a dinner –it’s thinking about the
other person. So I would like good manners in the
general sense. We all have tempers, but some people
simply can’t control theirs. They really never grew
up. These are the type of people I avoid. I also would
like someone who is interested in what I do and think.
This does not mean she always has to agree with me,
but she will be able to discuss the pros and cons of
decisions in a rational way. Finally, I would like
someone who can be funny, is generally optimistic (the
glass is half full, not half empty) is down to earth
and can think her way out of problems. Is this too
much to ask?
