About Me:
DOES THIS sound a little like you?. . . "I want a loving man with a heart as big as his intellect who seeks God's will for his life; a life partner who touches my heart, soothes my spirit, stimulates my intellect, ignites my passion, and wants to share the adventures of life; a man who receives as easily as he gives. " Some years ago I understood absolutely nothing about how good a relationship can be between a husband and wife. As proof I was handed a divorce decree. But I began attending a Bible church and with God's help and over many years I began to change. Some of the biblical concepts I learned were about the husband's role toward his wife. I learned it is God's desire and responsibility, not the spouse, to be the one to change the other; that the husband is not the boss, he is his wife's equal, neither above nor below her, and together they are co-heirs of God's grace. Although they are equals, their roles of course differ. The husband assumes a dual role, in that he should become a servant to his wife but also be responsible for where he leads her (leading in one sense meaning to go ahead of her and take the flak, so to speak, so that his wife is protected; but leading in yet another sense by example, as the spiritual leader of the home). The best model for the husband's servant-leader role is that of Christ, who took upon himself the form of a servant (His choice, His decision, His voluntary act) to lead in serving-by-example his bride-to-be, the Church. And there is no loss of macho in attempting to become the servant Christ was! On the contrary, what man could ever be man enough to achieve such a high position of servanthood? I believe God wants me to love the woman I marry as much as I love myself -- sort of a 'Do unto your wife as you would do unto yourself. ' The reward is a happy wife who finds rest engulfed in the sanctuary of her husband's heart, so that her happiness pours back on her husband. Now that's a win-win situation! How could anything so obvious be so obscure to so many cou
