About Me:
Wow - I didn't know I'd have to write about myself, I was just trying to reply to an ad that appealed to me. Then I looked at the "samples" to try to get an idea what to write, and that's a good way to get down on yourself -- these guys sound so fly! So I'll try to squeeze in just what a cool, charasmatic prince I am. You can find out about my "blackouts" later... just kidding! :)
I'm 45, I'm separated, I have a daughter (15) and a son (13) who live with me but visit their mom a lot. My career is in energy (energy policy, actually). Its always been very interesting and exciting work to me, but with the California energy crisis over the past year and the current terrorist threat to nuclear plants and other energy infrastructure, its suddenly something everyone seems to care about. I meet a lot of interesting people, but its still kind of a male-dominated industry, so I don't meet too many women through my job. I have female colleagues and co-workers, but I have a strict rule against dating people at work.
My kids are great, and pretty low maintenance, although they do need a bit of pushing to do schoolwork. I love kids and don't mind if you have some, but I'm not thinking of having more at this time. I generally try to give my time to them during the week, so I'm sort of a livin' for the weekend kinda guy. I like movies (though I haven't seen a good one in awhile), theater is even better, I'm interested in art, but don't know much about it (maybe you can teach me), when I watch TV (not very much) its usually comedies, I also like basketball and try to catch the Knicks when they're on TV.
I like going out for a brew (and maybe a game of pool), but I'm turned off by loud clubs -- a DJ for dancing once in awhile is good. I enjoy almost all kinds of music, some of my favorites are Alternative (Stone Temple Pilots), Blues (Stevie Ray Vaughn), Jazz (Miles), R&B (Maxwell), Club (Moby), etc. Some Country is OK, as is some Hip-Hop, but mostly their just noise.
